Your privacy is of utmost importance to us, particularly when processing personal data. The data we collect from those who visit our Website is handled according to relevant rules and regulations, namely the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our data privacy statement does not extend to the websites of other providers, whose links are contained within SocialFinanceLab.

What is personal data?

Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person, according to Article 4(1) of the General Data Protection Regulation. A link must be able to be made between information that has been collected and a specific person, directly or indirectly. Examples include: name, address, telephone number, IP address or email address.

Preparation of usage data for web statistics

We use statistical data regarding usage and the collection of various technical details available to us through Wix to help us understand how our website is used (number of visitors, duration of visit, etc). We use information provided through our contact form, mailing list and other functionalities to provide the services described.

User interaction (e. g. newsletter)

You may choose to engage with our Website in various ways: subscription to our newsletter, mailing list, email correspondence, discussion forum, uploading content, creating content, etc. In doing so, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to the Terms & Conditions for use of SocialFinanceLab.

To contribute to the platform, you must provide your name and email address. In providing this information, you agree to receive electronic communication from the SocialFinanceLab team and to communication via the Website's discussion forum function. Right to request information

You may request information regarding personal information of yours that may be stored, including how we collected the data and our purpose for storing it. We will respond in accordance with applicable law to inform you whether we have information about you stored, and if so, which information. Security

We protect your data against accidental or deliberate manipulation, loss, destruction and unauthorized access through the use of secure online applications, limited access, and additional security features such as passwords.

Despite the measures taken by the website hosts and the project consortium, we cannot guarantee absolute protection and security of your personal information or any other information provided by you and we recommend that you avoid sharing sensitive information on our website.

Explanation of data collection

SocialFinanceLab is supported by two hosts, Wix and eMotivo.

When you visit or access parts of our Website, Wix authorizes third parties to use web beacons, cookies, pixel tags, scripts, and other technologies and analytics services ("tracking technologies"). These tracking technologies can enable third parties to automatically collect your data to improve the use of our webpage, optimize its performance and ensure a tailored user experience, as well as for security and fraud prevention purposes.

We use website traffic information provided by Wix for statistical data collection. These statistics are summarized and contain no personal information.

We store data provided by you through the use of our contact form or through subscription to our mailing list.

Wix companies, as well as their partners and service providers, are located around the world. For the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, we store and process all non-personal information we collect in different jurisdictions.

Personal data may be maintained, processed and stored in other jurisdictions in the United States, Ireland, South Korea, Taiwan, Israel and to the extent required by law in other jurisdictions.

Content created and uploaded to SocialFinanceLab by SocialFinanceLab users will be stored in Germany.

Data collected via the contact form

The personal data you provide via the contact form (first and last name, email address, and any information included in the text of the message) will be stored.

Data collected by the server statistics

Visiting our website doesn't require you to share any personal information. However, with every visit to our website, data will be collected by Wix, including: your location, the length of your stay on the website, your activities on the website, what type of tool you are using (e.g., tablet, computer, etc), etc. We, the project consortium, can view the following statistics in a dashboard provided within the Wix platform: the total time that visitors have spent on our website, unique users, the average length of stay, traffic over time, most referenced websites, visitor retention (first-time users versus return-users), and website traffic based on location. No personal data is provided as part of these statistics. This information helps us understand how users find our website and expand our reach.

Essential cookies are a part of the SocialFinanceLab Website. A banner appears at the start of your website visit providing you the opportunity to accept or deny the use of non-essential cookies. Denying the use of cookies may inhibit your ability to access our website. Your rights

Beyond statistical data automatically collected by Wix with each visit to our website, you are not required to provide any addition information to us. You may choose to provide data through the use of our contact form, by subscribing to our mailing list, choosing to create your own content or engaging with other functionalities on the Website. You may request to know what data has been collected from you or that you have provided to us. You may object in writing to future use of your personal data. You may ask us in writing or via the contact form to dispose of all personal data we may have collected from you or that you have provided. Please note that certain data cannot be deleted due to other legal obligations.

You may direct any objections or questions to our legal representative.

Minors

We have no age restrictions on the use of our project website. Parents may request information we may have collected from their child, prohibit us from collecting any other information about your child, and request that all information we collect be deleted from our records.
